Most Recommended Educational Games for Homeschoolers

At Abacus Brands, it’s our passion to provide children with structured learning and imaginative play. Therefore, we use VR technology and educational science kits to fully engage young learners. This not only allows for safe virtual labs, but it also offers immersive field trips to other places or even time periods without leaving the house. Below, we’ll detail how you can integrate our educational games into a homeschool curriculum and receive better results!

Learning for 3-6 Year Olds

Beginning your child’s homeschooling experience early allows them the time they need to truly thrive. We use things like sea creatures, jurassic dinos, and kid-friendly monsters to capture their attention. They’ll soon be having a blast without even realizing that they’re learning, too.

Books

Our interactive AR books allow kids to literally see and hear each book come to life. Even before your child can read, they’ll love learning about things in 4D awesome reality. These books also provide letter recognition, pronunciation, and grow their vocabulary.

Can you imagine the look on your youngster’s face when they see dinosaurs leap off the page? It’s the most exciting way to get them interested in reading and learning!

We currently feature three books that are compatible with our free augmented reality app:

Tattoos and Stickers

If your child wants to see their temporary tattoos come to life, then our HoloToyz line will make their wish come true. Each pack provides 10 temporary tattoos, which is cool enough. However, these tattoos also move and make sounds with the free app. Plus, they’re available at budget-friendly prices.

Do you prefer not to use the power of temporary tattoos as a homeschooling tool? Turn to AR stickers instead. They feature the same technology and designs. The only difference is where your child will place them. Additionally, we offer AR tattoos and stickers for Paw Patrol!

Puzzles

Our Paw Patrol line continues with an AR jigsaw puzzle and AR puzzle cube. Once your child has completed each puzzle, they can see a 4D version of their favorite members of Paw Patrol. At the same time, they’ll improve their critical thinking, spatial awareness, and memory retention skills.

Learning for 8-12 Year Olds

As your child becomes older, it’s time to take advantage of the many kits that put science, dinosaurs, and the human body on display like never before. After all, learning about these things should be dynamic and interactive. These qualities are what will bring your homeschooler back for more again and again.

Virtual Reality Activity Kits

Rather than reading a book about what a dinosaur dig was like, why not let them experience it through virtual reality? Or, if your homeschooling kid is unschooling, let them learn how to cook in a completely safe VR environment. These activity kits teach empathy, creativity, and active retention skills.

Other VR activity kit options include:

In Shark Lab VR, your child will come face to face with a Hammerhead, Great White, and Reef shark. They’ll also get to experience a Megaladon fossil dig out set and ride an underwater shark coaster. These kits will help all children, but they’re especially good for homeschoolers who prefer hands-on learning.

Virtual Reality Discovery Gift Sets

Each of these gift sets includes an interactive book to bring their subjects to life! For example, Human Body! helps demystify the body so you can raise children with a healthy understanding of everything beneath their skin.

Another option is our Dinosaurs! set, which puts children into the Jurassic period. They’ll be able to watch as dinosaurs go about their day. This particular set was also the Toy Insider Winner for Top 10 STEM. It even allows them to build a 14” T-rex fossil.

These gift sets make Lisa Simpson’s virtual reality daydream from 1993 become real. Of course, your homeschooler won’t meet Genghis Khan, but they will meet dinosaurs, animals, and the human body in stunning detail.

Growing and Exploration Kits

Every child since the 1950s has loved creating volcanoes for science class. Your homeschooler deserves the same, but why not take it up a notch? With our Volcano Lab VR, your child will actually build a volcano. They’ll also have the opportunity to see real-life volcanoes in action, including on Mars!

Virtual Reality Volcano Exploration Kit VOLCANO LAB VR

Another throwback is growing crystals. Our kit enables your youngster to build and grow two crystals, which is a fun way to explore science. These kits help teach patience and safe manipulation skills. They’ll also have VR power on their side to help them discover underwater caves and crystals buried deep beneath the earth’s surface.

Pixicade

Video games offer a world of possibilities for children, including growing up to be a game designer. What’s the first step toward this interesting career? Drawing their own games and then playing them. Bring out their inner artist with a Pixicade set like Pixicade+. They won’t even notice that you’ve perfectly integrated this into their homeschool curriculum!

Learning for 14+ Year Olds

Finally, we come to teenagers. We currently only have one item for them, but it will definitely capture their attention for a long period of time. Plus, it’ll help them with deductive reasoning, critical thinking, attention to detail, and reading comprehension skills. Therefore, if you’ve got a budding teen detective on your hands, be sure to introduce them to Cold Case VR: The Case of the Fatal Follower.

During the cold case, your teen will have more than 75 pieces of physical evidence to explore as they attempt to figure out Hailey Rose’s killer. Can they solve the crime? Letting them work on this for approximately three hours will make them forget that it’s educational!

How to Integrate Into a Homeschool Curriculum

Integrating VR into a homeschool curriculum enables your child to combine educational experiences with the latest technology. Keep them interested in continual learning by providing historical or space-exploring field trips with your daily lesson goals. Make sure they not only keep up with their school-going peers, but actually have an advantage with STEM-related VR and AR technology.
