"When my 8-year-old grandson opened this gift he couldn't stop jumping around, exclaiming, "I got a VR! I got a VR!" (Lucky guess, Grandma.) He spent the balance of the Christmas day with his headset and his mom's iphone, discovering who-knows-what and having a marvelous time."
"Virtual reality and STEM in the same box.STEM: This kit comes with a science experiment that allows you to grow your own crystals. It was very easy. Very similar to mixing a packet of jello, but then the patience has to kick in. Like the rock tumblers of yore, you must wait for science to do its thing. The crystals are created when the liquid evaporates into the air. Outside, this may take anywhere from 3 days to a week or better. Inside evaporation takes a bit longer. I've been growing them in my office for about 10 days. The green crystal is growing faster and larger than the purple, but they are both getting along well.The Virtual reality aspect: To be honest, I was very surprised. I've never done any goggle-style virtual reality before. All it required was downloading the app to my phone, place the phone in the holder on the goggles and it was easy peasy from there on out. It thought it was pretty good for educational VR. There were several modules about the growing of crystals, geodes, stalactites/mites, etc. and a rollercoaster experience through a cavern. It was fun and a better experience than I expected for what it was.Summer is coming and I would definitely recommend it for parents of upper elementary students (however I am 46 and enjoyed it) to keep those curiosity juices flowing over the summer. Buy it for anyone that enjoys learning."
"My son loves learning about gems and minerals so this crystal growing kit was right up his alley. This kit includes all of the materials you need to grow two crystals and VR goggles that let you learn about crystals and exploring crystal caves. We had a lot of fun growing the crystals together and it took several days for it to be finished. The VR goggles were fun to try a few times, and it was easy setting it up on my phone. I wish there was a way to get the program started without the included poster, because I am concerned that we either lose or tear the poster and then the VR experience won't be as accessible. Overall, this is a fun activity for kids interested in crystals."
"This crystal lab VR is very cool and fun it comes with everything you need to grow the crystal it also comes with 2 different colors green and purple and VR goggles the crystal took about 3 days to fully grow you’ll see it slowly growing within the first hour I’d say other than the fact that you can use the VR goggles for the crystal you can use them to watch VR videos with your phone or play VR mobile games."

"Nicely packaged kit. My granddaughter loves doing experiments. Making crystals is such a cool thing to do. The poster is a nice feature telling about them. The giggles are a cute gimmick used with the poster. Makes a good gift."
"This kit comes with a (very) small quantity of mix to produce your home grown crystals. Compared to other kits, I feel like there was a lot put into the accessories, but less into the actual experience. I do like the poster that describes crystals. I like the it has provided cups and instructions.The instructions say it should take 5 days, we shall see!The VR goggles are perhaps superfluous and require a phone to use."

"I am tired of gifts that are purely toys - with no educational component. I prefer to give my kids gifts that are educational kits, that make learning FUN. My boys not only enjoy it, but they enjoy learning with me and we make it a family event.The crystals are fun, and don't take too long to develop but is a good lesson in patience for my 6 and 8 year old. They also have to take turns with using the VR goggles, which don't work all the time as sometimes the screen goes black. However, given the type of toy it actually is, I'm not sure they would use them for longer than the kit is designed for. I didn't like that it uses the app, as it restricted my screen time but I was able to get the app on my ipad and navigate with my sons together even though I didn't have the VR goggles.My sons asked me to get another "different kit" they had so much fun with this one. Recommend for any young learner."
"My sons are at the age at which they ask many questions and curious about STEM. If your child is of the same mindset, this is a must have kit. Found this to be very instructive and a rainy day well spent indoors while working with this kit."
